Liberate Corporate Homepage

Site Developer, Webmaster

I worked at Liberate Technologies, an interactive television infrastructure provider, from November 2000 through December 2001. I worked on a variety of projects, the most high-profile of which was a new corporate homepage. I worked with an outside design firm to develop the basic interface, and then produced the bulk of the Flash files myself. I worked closely with the rest of the creative services team at Liberate to develop a cinematic style using still images, in order to mimic television while avoiding the large file size of actual video.

I also acted as webmaster for the entire site for several months, making incremental updates as needed.

Liberate Demo DVD

Video Editor, Production Designer, DVD Author

I was the project lead on the Liberate DVD, and was involved in nearly every step of its production, including initial conceptual development, recording and editing almost all of the video, working with the Creative Director to develop a user interface, and the authoring of the DVD, including menus and scripting. The DVD consisted of more than 70 individual tracks, each linked from multiple menus.

The Liberate Demo DVD served several purposes. The sales force used it as a portable Demo platform for potential clients, dramatically increasing the quality and variety of Demos without the need to travel with extensive equipment. The DVD was also used as a backup for all demos at trade shows, resulting in an increase in both the quantity and the ambition of the demos.

Interactive Demos

Information Architect, Interface Developer, Production Designer, Video Editor

I developed a variety of Interactive Television demos during my time at Liberate. I worked primarily as a programmer for these demos, but I was often involved in the interface design as well, in addition to regular editing of the support video.

Liberate's technology platform allows developers to produce applications using standard HTML, Javascript, Flash, DHTML and Java. I developed a wide variety demos, including Video-on-Demand, ATVEF Synchronized Broadcast and Interactive Games.
